Etta James, Lionel Richie for Apollo Theater Hall of Fame
The late blues and soul singer Etta James and singer-songwriter Lionel Richie will be inducted into the Apollo Theater's Hall of Fame. The ceremony is set to take place on June 4 at the famed Harlem hall in New York City. James performed at the Apollo in 1957 and again in the 1960s, while Richie appeared with the Commodores in the 1970s. Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin and Patti Labelle have all been inducted in the past. Lionel is headlining Billboard's annual showcase at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX tonight (March 14).
