Ten-time Grammy winning music legend, Barbra Streisand released a new album this week entitled Release Me, on Columbia Records.  The collection features 11 previously unreleased songs from Barbra's private recording vaults, spanning five decades in the music business.  With the exception of two songs where the original masters couldn't be located, all the tracks on Release Me were transferred from first generation master tapes.  Some of the highlights include; "Didn't We" written by Jimmy Webb - recorded in 1970; the standard "Willow Weep For Me" - an unreleased track recorded in 1967 for Simply Streisand, arranged by Ray Ellis known for his legendary work with Billie Holiday; a version of Randy Newman's "I Think It's Going To Rain Today," featuring Barbra on vocals and Newman on piano; and an unreleased studio version of "With One More Look At You" from A Star Is Born.  Streisand kicked off her 'Barbra: Live' tour in Philadelphia on October 8, featuring special guests trumpeter Chris Botti and Italian operatic trio Il Volo.  Her next performance is scheduled in Brooklyn, NY on October 13 and complete tour dates are available here.
