Legendary music producer and music industry executive, Clive Davis will release his autobiography via Simon & Schuster in February 2013.  Davis has been working on the book with music journalist and Rolling Stone contributor Anthony DeCurtis.  Among the highlights and revelations in the memoir are his advice to Simon & Garfunkel to participate on the soundtrack album for The Graduate, convincing Bob Dylan to release "Lay, Lady Lay" as a single off his Nashville Skyline album, getting Bruce Springsteen to add more singles to his debut album (which produced the classic “Spirits in the Night”) and turning down Janis Joplin's invitation to sleep with him to celebrate her record contract.  Davis grew up in Brooklyn, New York and was orphaned as a teenager.  He flourished despite the adversity, securing a full scholarship to New York University and then attending Harvard Law School.  He began his music industry career at Columbia Records in 1956 and became president of the label in 1967. In 1975 he founded Arista Records and was the chairman of RCA Music Group from 2002 to 2008.  He is credited with developing the careers of Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Carlos Santana and Jennifer Hudson, among many others.  Davis is currently the Chief Creative Officer at Sony Music Entertainment and is working on a new album with soul legend Aretha Franklin.
